Matt Birk, Super Bowl Champion and Author

The kick off our first General Session, attendees were joined by Super Bowl champion Matt Birk. A 15-year veteran of the National Football League and currently serving as Special Assistant to the National Football League and a six-time NFL Pro Bowl Selection and two-time All Pro, Matt proved to be an undisputed leader on the field and was named the sixth smartest athlete by Sporting News. A graduate of Harvard University with a degree in economics, Matt was the recipient of the 2011 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award for his excellence on and off the field, including his commitment to emphasizing the importance of education through his H.I.K.E. Foundation. Established in 2002, H.I.K.E. stands for hope, inspiration, knowledge, and education, and impacts the lives of at-risk children by providing interactive programs and resources needed to guide a child though key educational transitions.

Matt used his experience on and off the field to share with attendees the value of true inspiration, lasting leadership principles, the dynamics of teamwork, and fulfilling potential.

For the Conference's first interactive General Session, Matt Heller of Performance Optimist Consulting and Josh Liebman of Amusement Advantage used their vast experience in customer relations and enthusiam for the attractions industry to lead a audience-driven discussion using real-time polling.  The discussion led attendees  on a journey of discovery and possibility as they  imagined the future of Florida’s attractions industry while examining the opportunities and threats attractions and businesses face setting a course for the future. Sara Frasca, VP of Innovation, Platypus Labs

After celebrating the past, General Session 3 was about looking at the future. And speaker Sara Frasca, will showed attendees the best was to take their attractions and businesses into the future is to embrace innovation.

With the curiosity of Galileo and the tenacity of a street fighter, Sara Frasca is an innovation expert. Honing her skills at senior leadership roles in both Corporate America and the world of startups, Sara now serves as Vice President of Innovation for Platypus Labs, a global innovation enablement, invention, and consulting firm. She helps leading organizations cultivate human imagination, build a culture of innovation, and solve complex problems in creative ways. Sara is the go-to resource for leaders seeking competitive advantage and sustainable success by harnessing innovation.

Prior to Platypus Labs, Sara spent 13 years at General Mills in multiple leadership roles. She was also an account director at the interactive agency ePrize, leading the forefront of digital transformation for Fortune 500 brands. Sara is the founder and proud owner of Trasca & Co. Eatery, and was named the 2017 Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Jacksonville, Florida.
